Our fuels - pellets and heat logs, are part of the natural recycling process. When they burn, solar energy stored in the cells of the raw materials will be released and the carbon dioxide, absorbed during the growth of the tree, will be returned to nature, where it is utilised by other plants. Even the ash from pellets and heat logs is useful, because it is rich in minerals, and can be recycled to fertilise forests, parks or gardens. Contact Andrea on 01904 720575 Production Process - from raw material to highly efficient fuel The raw material for our products is mainly pure sawdust and shavings from sawmills located in the area of our partners production plants in Sweden and the Baltics. Sawdust contains about 50% water and is dried in large dryers to a dry content of more than 90%. The drying process is very efficient and a large part of the energy for the dryers in this process is recycled via condensation. The dry raw material is fed into the pellets or briquette presses. The main part of wood is cellulose and lignin. When the material is pressed under very high pressure, the temperature is increased and the lignin acts as glue. When the temperature decreases again, the lignin hardens and binds the particles to briquettes or pellets with a density of about 1.2g/cm3. The newly pressed pellets pass through a cooler to allow the lignin to harden. We do not use additives or adhesives in our products. Clean and Green - Refined biofuel or crude fuels Our wood pellets are made from 100% virgin timber in the form of pure sawdust shavings from sawmills and contain no gluing agents or contaminated wood, making them a very clean and environmentally friendly wood fuel. In comparison with wet unrefined wood fuel, such as sawdust and chips, pellets and heat logs have many advantages: Less volume to transport and store Less water to transport Smaller and cheaper boiler plants Less ash Cheaper cleaning system for the combustion gas Easy to store and no mould Refined wood fuels can be stored without risk of moulding or self-ignition. The energy content does not change during storage. The storage time is unlimited, but the refined fuel must be protected against rain.
